Codex sessions launched inside the IDE use the authenticated Codex runtime and its connected ChatGPT plan.

Limit behavior is owned by Codex; JetBrains does not document a paid automatic fallback for this route.

- Availability depends on a supported JetBrains release and the Codex ACP integration. The IDE does not turn a JetBrains AI plan into OpenAI usage.
How to get started

Use a JetBrains IDE release that includes the ACP registry.

Add or open the Codex agent from the AI chat agent picker.

Choose ChatGPT OAuth when Codex requests authentication.
