When you choose Codex in CodeMantis, the AI work uses the ChatGPT plan connected to Codex on your computer.
Good to know
When Codex reaches your ChatGPT plan limit, CodeMantis does not automatically add paid OpenAI usage.
- ChatGPT limits
- You must install Codex separately and sign in with ChatGPT. Other AI assistants in CodeMantis may need their own plans.
- Possible extra cost
- Claude Code and OpenCode can be connected separately and may have their own costs.
How to get started

Install Codex on your computer and sign in with ChatGPT.

Install CodeMantis on macOS or Windows.

Select Codex for a project, session, or supported task category.
